Welcome!
Hello! I'm Daniel Barboza, an award-winning sound designer currently working at Playstation Studios. I've had the pleasure of working with many development teams on popular titles like Death Stranding 2, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, and God of War: Ragnarok. I previously worked as an Audio Artist at Schell Games in Pittsburgh, PA, where I honed my craft designing sound and composing music for video games and VR experiences.
Before my professional audio career began, I earned my MFA in Electronic Music and Recording Media at Mills College in Oakland, California. While there I had the opportunity to collaborate with The New American Story Project (NASP), where I scored videos showcasing stories of immigrants building new lives in America.
I'm incredibly driven by the impact of sound in powerful storytelling and I strive to evoke emotional responses from gamers. Sound can be terrifying or blissful, and I'm obsessed with taking big swings while exploring the visceral edges of sonic possibilities.
These days you can usually find me somewhere in San Diego, CA. When I'm not working I'm usually making new music with my growing modular collection or spending time outdoors in nature with my family.
